Dr. Young Hyun Jun is the head of Samsung Electronics Device Solutions Division, Memory business and Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology (SAIT).
He is overseeing global operations of the Memory, System LSI and Foundry business units and research into future innovative technologies.

Dr. Jun, a key figure in elevating the Memory Semiconductor and battery businesses to the highest global standards, is playing a pivotal role in strengthening the future competitiveness of Samsung Electronics DS division.
During his tenure as head of the Memory Business (2014~2017), he continued to uphold Memory's dominant position by successfully launching the world's first 20nm and 10nm DRAM in succession, and also taking the lead in entering premium markets through full-scale mass production of V-NAND products.
While serving as CEO & President of Samsung SDI (2017~2021), and chairman of the board & Vice Chairman of Samsung SDI (2022~2023), he led the company to achieve record-breaking performances by not only pioneering the small battery market but also the electric vehicle battery and ESS markets.
He contributed to building the domestic ecosystem by localizing battery materials and discovering promising business partners. He also laid the foundation for the growth of the battery business by strengthening Samsung's battery technology leadership.

Since joining Samsung Electronics in 2014 as a vice president of the next-generation product development team, he has been responsible for the development of next-generation products like touch controller ICs and wearable bio-processors.
He has led R&D for image sensors and LSI products, such as display solutions, power ICs, and security solutions from 2015 to 2018.
As an executive vice president of the sensor business team since 2019, he led R&D and commercialization of advanced pixel technology and high-resolution sensors, such as the first 108MP CMOS image sensor.
In 2020, he strengthened the strategic direction of the entire System LSI Business as an executive vice president and head of product planning, sales & marketing.

Since joining Samsung Electronics in 1989, Mr. Han has gained extensive product experience in DRAM/Flash design and product/solution development. He has held various leadership positions, including Head of SSD Development Team, Head of Product Planning Team, and Head of Strategic Marketing Team, where his expertise and insight helped Samsung Electronics secure leadership in the memory market.
In 2022, he was appointed as Head of DSA, where he led the semiconductor business at the forefront in the U.S. With his technical prowess and business acumen, he gained a wealth of global customer response experience and network.
